I might have been joking. Maybe...

Hmmm, if that`s in budget, I think it would be worth a look, especially

if it`s six cylinders and automatic. Very classy indeed, rare, and well

built.

Of course it`s the case with the Benz. Apart from the hood, it`s a W124.

They do loads of W124 bits. Hell, some of the W124 parts are cheap from

Mercedes themselves!

Very nice :)

BXs come in 1.7D and TD and 1.9D flavours. The engines are similar and

common to 205/405/306/ZX/etc models. Higher spec ones have good seats,

I was very fond of mine. The load area in an estate will be relatively

wide because of the design of the rear suspension.

The Hydropneumagics in a BX are not all that complicated to anyone who

knows what they are doing, but something like a blown bulb can easily

cause the cost of repairs to outweigh the value of the vehicle. Bits

are cheap from the likes of GSF and Eurocarparts.

Ride is very good for a car with its roots in 1983. Steering is a bit

woolier than I care for but they grip and handle OK. And by jings they

stop, the powered brakes can take some getting used to.

The bodies don`t rust, there`s loads of stuff about them on the internet

and the isosceles styling means they look a bit cool, especially if you

were young and impressionable during the 1980s.

Yay, we agree on the right person, for the right price, on a 166.

That must be a first. Don`t suppose there is a cheapish JTD 166 that you

could get an allowance for, instead of taking a company car is there.

Title: Project Fatality... continued

Well where did we get to then… Last time we updated this project we were wheeling the Audi out of Chris at Kustom Kolors booth after achieving the matt finish we were looking for! This was the Friday before the Players show where the car was to be debuted. Then it all kind of went wrong for a while!
I had this crazy idea that 20’s would work on the car after selling a set of 19″s the same style that week.. How wrong could i of been. Whilst an awesome wheel we just couldn’t get the car down low enough on these wheels once the tyres were mounted ( A story in itself but lets save that one!)
The wheels (20″ Rs4’s with Yoko S-drive’s.)

IMG_0994

When test fitted before the tyres we were feeling very smug with ourselves and though we had it nailed oh well you cant win them all, It did look nice though at this stage.

IMG_0969

But it wasn’t to be so with a few hours before leaving for the Players show in Essex it was stressful times (For which i apoligise for my grumpyness to everyone). Chris had an Idea…. What about them wheels of Ollies S4… Humm they couldn’t work could they…? At this stage i was stressed and couldn’t even be botherd anymore but after a call to Ollie we pulled one off to give it a try and damm i think we could be out of the shit! Game on for tomorrow we will go to the ball! (I Have to say a HUGE thankyou to Ollie for helping us out!). Getting to the show was stress free with a carfull we arrived at the show to be greated with this!
