Big, heavy, wafty and rusty.

I`ve nearly bought one. It`s not something I`d want.

An SEC, however...

V8 burble, comedy handling

Far to conservative to be interesting

Need 3 seats as a minimum.

We have the Seat and the Audi for completely sensible motoring and the Sylva

for complete stupidity.

The Golf is currently getting the vote because it would take all 3 of us and

I`m sure the 4 year old would love it. I don`t think depreciation would be

a killer either.

We shall see.

And about as well made, too.

*nods* Of the suggestions, I`d have the Golf. I reckon looking for an

Audi would be worthwhile in some regards; fully wind-down rear windows,

no roll bar, substantial boot, classy even when getting on...

And the intermediate shaft drowning out the V8 burble, and the sound of

rust-worms eating the sills drowning that out...

Not even a six-cylinder engine.

Nah, keep it three years and it`ll still be worth £3K or so, and that`s

a conservative estimate really - `91 Clippers are up to £2K in summer

for good ones.

Since you already have an Audi, the Audi Cabriolet would probably feel

boring. Can you find a Mercedes W124 E-class Cabriolet for around the

£6K mark?

Or you could get a Maserati Biturbo.

The two slotted right domes on the carbon fibre bonnet send extra air into the 12 cylinder engine. The car squats on large 9×20 front and 10.5×21 rear specially-insincere striking rims wrapped in 255/30ZR20 front and 295/25ZR21 rear Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres. The coilover suspension has been adjusted to lower the centre of gravity and upgrade street property for providing the best road holding.

Mansory’s definition of luxury extends to the interior where tailor-made carbon fibre parts are found. They involve some bits from the console, the centre console and the re-designed steering controls. Foot gearshift was made of aluminium while the door sills and head rests feature embroidered CYRUS logos. Hand-stitched leather covers the seats, parts of the dashboard and inside the door panels.
